Activities will start the next month of July
Honda’s Safety Institute (HIS) keep growing and the building work continue to advance at good
rate, forecasting the start of activities for the next month of July.
At present, the asphalt building work of the different tracks as well as the construction of the offroad
area are completed, the only things missing are the last works of adjustments and
equipment of the impressive 1.500m2 building where the HIS will be.

The HIS will be a worldwide referent in riding formation. The center, will be situated in the
installations that Montesa Honda possesses in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, a place of
enormous strategic interest seeing as it’s situated in Barcelona’s metropolitan area. It will have
the capacity to attend more than 15.000 participants for year and it will occupy a surface
of no less tan 25.000m2. The HIS will impart a theoretical -practical formation, therefore it will
dispose of a modern building of 1.500 m2, equipped with different classrooms, including the
exclusive Riding Trainers of the brand. For the practical sessions there will be three areas: an
asphalted track of 8.500 m2, a section with different frictions dedicated to the exclusive practice
of different breaking exercises, in dry as well as in wet and an off-road area of 800 m2, that will
have a minicross and trial track. The Management of the HIS will be in the hands of the
experimented instructors of the HEC, an entity with more than 17 years of experience where
more than 144.000 participants have already passed.
The HIS is part of Honda’s Safety Program, specifically in the area of Preventive Safety,
joining other activities of Honda’s Riding School (HEC), Escuela Honda by ZK, or Honda’s
Riding Trainer.
Honda’s Safety program, begun in 2004 turning in to the first and only company of the sector to
sign the European Road Safety Charter with the firm purpose to reduce the number of traffic
victims.
New Honda Safety Programme
Dani Pedrosa is the brand ambassador when it come to sefety, so much so that in
Catalonia’s GP his Honda RC212V will display Honda’s Safety Logo as support to all the
initiatives that the Japanese multinational takes on to favor the Safety of the Riders.
The new logo designed by Montesa Honda S.A graphically shows
Honda’s ongoing commitment to safety. The logo is a drawing of three
hands symbolizing the three general areas of Honda Safety Activities:
- Preventive Safety (Traffic Safety education which enhance rider skills);
- Active Safety (Accident avoidance devices Optimizing Safety
Performance);
- Passive Safety (Reduction of the consequences of
accidents).
The three hands cradle and protect two riders. The different
sizes of the riders symbolize a father and son, representing the current
and future generation of motorcyclists.
During the next weeks, Honda will announce the program of the courses of the HIS, as well as
the detail of how to take part in any of the activities planed in the calendar.
