Hi Paul,
You left a message on my mobile asking for feedback on my recent VFR1200 dct purchase so here’s a few lines for you:
Overall I’m so far with the transaction and the bike. Any issues’ seem to be mainly outside your control, but I will mention them anyway for your info. I like your customer service; you have done exactly what you promised so far, on time and continue to take an interest. Delivered as promised, on time.
I thought that the idea of offering a black colour choice was very enterprising with the limited choice of colours offered by Honda. The bike itself looks very good in black and I’m looking forward to the panniers and top box arriving. Having done the colour change I also think you were right to keep the price competitive, I would not have gone for it had it been more expensive, and the deal you did on accessories and delivery (due to the distance) sealed it for me. You would have had to offer a very good price indeed if I had decided to go with the red bike, simply down to the distance, mainly if something goes wrong.
The Honda insurance was irritating as I’m sure Rob has told you. It’s not Doble’s fault obviously but why do they (Honda) offer free insurance and then say your bike’s too expensive? I know it’s franchised out but to me as a customer that makes Honda look incompetent. The cost involved to me was trivial , it’s just the time wasted chasing it.
I was surprised to discover that the dct model needs an extra bracket (at £50) to fit the sat nav. That should have been mentioned in the Honda pricelist. It also makes the sat nav uncompetitive on price, even with your discount. The £700 list price for the nav is ridiculous; it is only a Zumo 550 after all! I’ve just fitted a Zumo 660 to the bike for £460 including the mount!
The paint job on the bike is very good and to my eye rivals anything the factory could produce. It’s nothing I would raise with you normally but there are a couple of imperfections on the edge/corner of the large fairing panels. The paint has a couple of (very) small chips, one on a corner and one on an edge. You can only see them because the undersurface is white and it will only take seconds for me to touch up when I get round to it. Maybe the paint is slightly brittle? You do need to take extra care with the panels when fitting them.
As I’m a distant buyer it would have been useful to have a bit more info on the procedure/requirements for the service package and extended warranty. It’s not realistic to come all the way to you to have the bike serviced unfortunately, so some guidance on what my local dealer will need to prove I have purchased the service plan etc would be handy. I have received the owner’s card from Honda now and I think there’s some more stuff in the post but I could be up to the first service already.
The bike itself? Well, it’s a Honda, top design and build quality as you would expect. I’m still getting used to the dct gearbox, first impressions are that it changes up a bit early in the D mode and a bit late in the S mode. It would be nice if Honda refined the firmware in the electronics after some user feedback in the future. It did seem odd getting back on my other VFR with an old fashioned manual box yesterday!! Surprising how quickly you get used to it!
As I said at the start, so far I’m a satisfied customer.
Hope you find this useful
Regards
Stu Weatherston

I was a bit fed up when part exing my Triumph Sprint, it was never in the same class as the previous Hondas I have owned, two VFR800s. My girlfriend said just try one more garage, maybe somewhere near London. I found Dobles on the net, rang Paul, the deal was done in two minutes.
Paul was excellent even though we never met, everything was handled over the phone. The bike was given to my transporter, it arrived to France in perfect condition, very pleased with condition and part ex price which was very competative by far from other dealers.
I'm very , very pleased, thanks to my girlfriend , and you have a great salesman Paul, Regards, John and Catherine = Monaco;;;;; Cheers.

The staff were all very helpful, knowledgeable and informative.
The salesman, Pete Leech, went out of his way to have the bike ready a day early, and thanks must also be due to the service staff who made this possible. The PanEuropean is a Cracking bike, fantastic condition and presented very well by the staff at Dobles. It's as good as new, the only downside is that there's no way I can keep it looking so good!
The Doble Web-site is very informative, with great write-ups and photo's etc.
Peter Leech dealt with my p/ex and sale and is one of the most approachable sales guys I have met, biking has some funny bike shops, where you are not made to feel that welcome, but the staff at Dobles, and Peter in particular are a credit to the trade. It's the best showroom I've been to by far, the second hand bikes are as good as new ones, the overall atmosphere is very good. Thanks also to Rob for sorting the finance and warranty, another great guy and very knowledgeable.
Many thanks.

Hi Paul,
!!!!!!!YOU GUYS MADE IT DEAD EASY!!!!!!!
Had the CBF1000 for almost 3 weeks now and decided it was about time to email in with some comments. On how I've felt after buying my 1st new bike in 23 years!
1st It was the website that attracted me and even 'Her indoors' told me to pick up the phone and make the call!
2nd All questions were answered honestly on the phone call and at no time did I feel under pressure.
3rd I decided to visit to look and see for myself. Again you showed me both bikes I was interested in, gave me a bloody good deal on both and let me decide. Again my decision and no pressure, accessories and delivery discussed. Bike Sold !! If you remember I was quite stunned at how quick we had done the deal and asked "Is that it?" Yes was the reply what more do you want?
4th Delivery was brilliant, Control's etc ran through even though it was getting late in the day and your guy (Tony) had 170 miles to cover before he got home, it was as if I was just around the corner. No question was problem.
5th The new Honda is so comfortable even 'her indoors' was tempted out for a run last Sunday at just above freezing point!!
Pass on my Thanks to all at Doble's who where involved. I've been mentioning you guys to whoever I can at every opportunity. Including my bike/your logo on my laptop's desktop much to the annoyance's of my other motor trade customers!!! But as I say to them " You need to be the best to get on my screen!"
Regards
Phil Harvey

Hi Ian,
Customers are always quick to moan when things go wrong but not so quick when it comes to heaping praise for good service from any company.
I would like to say how pleased I am with the recent service shown to me by Doble's when things did unfortunately go astray. I thought here we go again, more problems but with a different company name. How wrong I was, you and the team there at Doble's not only provided an after sales response the like of which I have never experienced before but with a
Special thanks must go to you for over-viewing the project and grateful thanks to the person or persons responsible for repairing my bike to , it looks so much better than it did with no signs of the previous problems reoccurring.
Please past on my gratitude to those concerned, I can now use my bike for my instructional work with a great deal of pride.
Once again many thanks.
Best Regards

Mike Edwards is great and he was never to busy to chat about anything about my bike. Top marks to him and Pete
Dobles is by far the best people to buy a bike from. I WILL be using them again when its time for another bike.
I visited the web site every day and went through the bikes a few times. It is a site that I use and the Dobles name is a name you can trust and you get a good deal.
Lastly I would like to thank everyone at Dobles for everything that you have done for me. Big thanks to Mike Edwards for everything you have done will but you a pint if we meet, Also Rob and Pete (with the DEEP voice) you are a credit to Dobles and you should all get a "pay rise" All the best Robert Ramsay

Just a note to say thank you for the time and effort you spent with me on helping me decide on the next new bike. I was with the efforts and how you helped me make the correct choice.
Thank you for the teas and coffee too and the hob nobs chocolate too, I think you should get an extra bonus from your boss for the sale and a well done as its customers that keep coming back for more like me when you get good service.
I found the showroom very inviting, and the staff friendly and not pushy, but knowledgeable.
I know I am very fussy about the condition of my bikes and hope she will be polished to perfection when I pick her up. I will have to get new carpet for her to sit on and special covers I have heated and ready for her.
So thank you Mike Edwards, see you after my break

Dear Paul,
Re: Purchase of Honda Varadero
I just want to say to you that I have now brought many new bikes from you over many years and during that time I have found you and your Staff always to my needs whether it is buying a bike, equipment or arranging a Service.
I also welcome the fact that when I talk buying and selling figures with you I know that it is not worth trying to haggle because your prices are keen on both parts of the deal.
To summarise I cannot ever envisage me ever getting any other bike than a Honda because a Honda is reliable, good value and backed up by a superb dealership.
Please do not hesitate to use this letter as a testimonial and just to clarify I am not in any way related to either you or any members of your Staff.
At the moment, given how much I like my new bike so much I cannot imagine me buying another for at least four years but then again you know how we bikers can change our minds about what we want so you never know.
Whether it is four years or sooner rest assured that if I do need to change my bike I will be in to see you.
Yours sincerely
Ted

Hi Paul,
Made it home ok. Just squeezed onto the only ferry that day because of the bad weather. Rode thru hail, rain and a small blizzard in Wales and, unbelieveable winds in Ireland.
What an episode!
Bike is great and had a lovely weekend away with Liz on it, over a thousand miles already.
Thanks for all your help and meeting me so late, and I hope we will do business again soon.
All the best
Pat

Hi Paul
Just a quick note to say thanks for your help today with the handover of my new Pan - my first ride on one of these was the trip home from your showroom this afternoon, and I'm really pleased with my choice. Easily a better ride than the K1200GT which I was considering against it.
And thanks for showing such good grace in the face of my relentless haggling; it's been very and I daresay we'll be back to you when Heidi's passed her test.
Regards
James

, I have at last found a dealership that care about there customers, this companies customer service is on par with Virgin Atlantic, and you don't get much better than that. I found Mike Doble very easy going, fair on our haggling (ish) whilst trying to make a living, he's also open to negotiation and he even buys you a coffee. Having bought a Pan European off of Mike in June to tour France and Spain for six months (a superb bike by the way) I went to see Mike December 06 to trade in for a March 07 model, we've almost agreed a deal!!! The lads in the shop, (James, what he doesn't know about clothes and accessories isn't worth knowing), the workshop service is second to none, the lads on reception are always very cheerful and polite (very rare these days). I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.Try Dobles you won't be sorry. Thanks Mike for providing a all round service.

Dear Mr Doble,
I recently bought a Honda Shadow VT750 from your Salesman Paul Styles. I originally purchased a Honda Rebel ( again from your shop) in 1999. At the time, Paul was , particularly as I was very much a novice rider.
When I visited your shop last week, I was amazed that Paul recognised me. Again he was very , and offered me an attractive deal. Of course I shopped around, but I was not treated with such . I have been in sales for many years and have been a Sales Director in charge of a commercial operation. The past five years I have run my own business involved in teaching the principles and disciplines of selling. Not that this makes me anybody special! But, I felt compelled to write to you and say that Paul displays such a professional and personable attitude. Having employed people in the past, I know how difficult it can be to find someone who can focus on their customers' needs rather than look out for their own aims, which invariably never leads to repeat business, For me, repeat business ensures an organisation's longevity. After sales service is an integral part as well. I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you for such a good purchase and assistance from Paul. He truly is an asset to your company. We took the bike out tonight, and it was a joy! I will not hesitate to your Company in the future.
Thank You once again..
